Procida, Italy

If you get the chance to visit Procida in Italy, I HIGHLY recommend. We planned a day trip there and it was absolutely perfect. From Naples, we took a ferry and it was a nice two hour ride. Procida is a colorful fisherman’s town with photo opps at literally every corner. It was quiet when we went (very few tourists) which made it even better. We strolled around aimlessly, taking our time, stopping every few minutes to take pictures. On the way to the docks with the scenic row of colorful houses pictured above, we stopped at a cafe to have a refreshing drink and simply relax, enjoying the calm. We had lunch at Ristorante La Lampara which sat at the top of a little hill, overlooking the boats and colorful houses. My best friend and I shared fresh calamari with lemon and each ate a plate of pasta with seafood. Ughh, just writing about it makes me want to go back! We had a little time left to go take a dip in the ocean but we opted to take a nap on the beach amidst Italian families instead because we had worked soooo hard at doing pretty much nothing (ha!!). Around 4 o’clock, we headed back to catch the ferry to Naples but not without some obligatory gelato. Overall, Procida was one of the highlights of my trip!
